MES software integration
MES software is the link between the Remote I/O level (PLC level) and the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) level. This is also called “vertical integration.” P&F Automation uses the Microsoft SQL database and the ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards to create the MES system. These standards describe the models and interfaces for exchanging information between ERP, MES, and PLC.
MES provides you with more information about how your factory operates. It enables you to plan better, reduce losses, and improve reporting. This results in higher production at lower cost.
MES stands for Manufacturing Execution System.
By implementing MES, you can improve on many levels:
- Reduction in delivery time and improvement in delivery time reliability
- Reduction in inventory and order processing costs
- Management tool tables with KPIs provide information for informed decisions.
- With the ISA-88, ISA-95, and ISA-99 standards, well-functioning models can be set up.
- Increase overall equipment efficiency and reduce energy consumption
- Improve planning
- Tracking: automatic processing of all production data and conversion of this data into product and production reports
- Reduction of errors with electronic link
